Dear reader, tonight on the interview couch with us in a young woman, an avid role-playing gamer who found love in the most unexpected and unusual of circumstances.
What was your childhood like? Any favourite toys or memories?
It was pretty awesome, actually. I had a decent spread of toys, but I mostly enjoyed taking my mom’s electronics apart and putting them back together. She wasn’t too thrilled when I’d do this, but it’s evolved into a computer science major. So there’s that, at least.
Does Craig share your love of Tolkien? Does Scott?
Craig has a general geeky respect for Tolkien. Scott, on the other hand, is as in love with it as I am. It makes for some awesome moments.
Who is the bigger D&D geek, Craig, Scott, or you?
That’s a tough one. Scott’s pretty new to the RPG world, but he’s catching on quick. Craig and I have been playing those types of games for years. I’d say we’re equally geeky but in different ways. Craig’s in to the mechanics and planning of individual moves. I’m in to the pretending I can shoot someone from a hundred feet.
What are your favourite book, movie and food?
Book: The LOTR trilogy. Among those, The Fellowship of the Ring is my favorite.
Movie: I’m partial to the LOTR and Harry Potter movies, but my all-time favorite movie is The Princess Bride. The book is pretty awesome, too.
Food: Anything not being served in my college cafeteria? Seriously, I’m a sucker for pepperoni pizza.
What does your ideal vacation look like?
Universal Studios in Orlando with a lot of time spent at the Harry Potter exhibit. I’d also like to see Alaska and maybe try dog sledding.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
Ooh! Camouflage! I’m all about stealth and remaining hidden. It would be so cool to blend into my surroundings. Now if I could just carry a bow while doing it…
Deanna Dee is strictly human and does not, to her knowledge, own a hyena. She lives by the sea, which she takes full advantage of in the summer time. People, reading, and pop culture make up the shameless downtime of her life. The rest of it is writing, and she’s okay with that. You can find Lydia, Scott and Craig on the pages of One Fling to Rule Them All.
Next week with us will be a young lady who discovered she has latent magical abilities no one knew about. Please follow the site by email (bottom-right), via Twitter or like our Facebook page to be notified when the next interview is posted.
